We see the role of a "Web Site Administrator" closely resembling that of a middle manager. The client gives us the information needed to maintain the web site, a budget to work within, and gives us a goal. With these tools in hand we build, maintain, and update on a regular basis, making our own determinations as to layout, design, area of web site the items or services go, and much more. Of course the client has the right to make changes, but overall, this type of decision is at our discretion.
The above approach works well for small to medium size business who have their hands full with day to day operations, and don't have an employee who normally handles advertising or product/service promotion.
If you have an employee who handles your advertising and promotions, it may be more beneficial and cost effective to have them determine and provide, what information is added to, or removed from the web site. No one knows your product or service as well as you and your employees. Given that, it may be better for you to have an "In-House Administrator" of sorts who makes decisions for your company/organization, then provides it to us to incorporate into the web site.
If you are unsure which will suit your needs the best, please remember to ask us during your consultation.
